ABOUT TECHSQUARE

As with many good projects, the idea came into existence in a pub by the end of 2009. Petra Hubačová, Nikola Rafaj and Ondřej Bartoš were all present at this idea´s formation.

Afterwards, Petra and Nikola managed to put this idea into practice with a help of investors, and an area of 1000m2 was set up near the station Pražského povstání by the beginning of 2011. The area was used by newly established projects/companies and in September 2012 TechSquare was moved to Smíchov, to more spacious premises.

At the moment, Petra is the manager of TechSquare and is taking care of all its activities. Nikola has shifted his scope of activity to the acceleration program Startup Yard situated in TechSquare and Ondřej Bartoš is in charge of Credo Ventures, venture capital fund.

WHAT IS TECHSQUARE

It is a modern place (not only) for companies/projects starting their own business looking for a friendly and inspiring environment, community, contacts, services supporting a good start and growth.

TechSquare is situated in Prague 5, in a reconstructed factory unit built in 1910, near Anděl and the Prokop valley.

Petra Hubačová

Chief Babysitter

Petra has been active on the start-up scene since 2005. She loves energy and enthusiasm of people who want to make their business dreams come true and she believes that she can stay forever young thanks to the young and inspiring environment. There have been two of her set-ups so far – her son Prokop in 2009 and a year later the second one – TechSquare. She enjoys organising interesting events such as Open Coffee, TEDx Prague, Bootcamps for entrepreneurs, MiniSeedcamps, Startup Live, various hackathons, movie nights etc. Her vision of TechSquare is to make the ´childhood´ of local companies well unforgettable and help them become strong and independent individuals.

Jana Boháčková

Gatekeeper

Jana works as TechSquare´s gatekeeper. Apart from ensuring smooth running of the reception desk she is also TSQ´s bar and coffee specialities´ master. She bakes superb desserts and by doing this she ensures daily sugar intake to make all our clients´ performance efficient. She has studied Floristic design and media communication. Her creative personality and power of word and speech enable her to create a pleasant working environment and positive atmosphere all over the companies located in TechSquare. Jana keeps her nerve and a smiling face even when solving tough situations. She has a great sense of humour and organization skills. She deals with all her tasks conscientiously and with a grace of her own.

Veronika Koktová

Gatekeeper

Veronika works as TSQ´s Gatekeeper and twice a week also as Tormentor. She takes care of smooth operating of TSQ and with a smiling face and a cool head she ensures the satisfaction of all clients. As she has studied in the field of Physical education and sport for Paramedics, she is twice a week devoted to ´torturing´ her clients by professionally-lead training. She knows best that only a strong individual can be the most efficient one. That is why she is used to going only for maximum performance and she stays cool under pressure. Sport and travelling are her most favourite free time activities.
